Oil Slick Hair Trend

For those who like to stand
out from the crowd but also that want to give their hair optimum shine, one of
my favourite hair colour trends for the new season will be oil slick hair.
Although still a stand out
hair colour, this trend is a more subtle take on trends like the recent rainbow
hair colour trend and peekaboo hair colour.
This trend takes
inspiration from oil being spilled or oil in water and sees a dark brunette or
black base paired with the placement of blue, green and purple tones in the hair
for a truly mesmerising finish.
This hair colour trend
looks best on those with a dark base, as the colours blend in beautifully and
the combination of dark hues create an immense shine within the hair. However.
Blondes can still incorporate these tones within their hair if they want to add
a pop of colour for the season and something more unique than that of the
subtle pastel tones we would usually see within blonde hair.
This colour trend looks
best on healthy looking hair and stylists should discuss with their clients the
upkeep of this look at home with hair masks and treatments, as well as using a
colour saving shampoo like L'Oreal Colour Protecting Shampoo to keep colour
looking bright and long-lasting.
To show off this colour at
its best, hair should be cut bluntly, styled sleek and finished with a hair
serum or oil to enhance the colour as much as possible and to give the hair a
glass like shine. The
L'Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil is one of my favourites that I would apply
on damp hair prior to styling and dry hair after styling for optimum shine and
to allow those colours to really pop.
