Nails: Red Hot Ombré Nail Art by Julie Anne

If you're feeling hot, hot, hot, create these fabulous flaming red ombré nails with this step-by-step by Salon System nail expert, Julie Anne, using Gellux Devil Red.

Step 1

Prepare the nails. File to shape and push back cuticles and buff nail plate. Cleanse nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe.

Step 2

Apply Gellux Fast Bond to nails and let dry. Apply Gellux Cover Pink Base Coat, and cure.

Step 3

Apply Gellux Devil Red to two thirds of the nail, don't cure.

Step 4

Using an ombre brush or fan brush, start blending the colour upwards by dabbing gently side to side then up. Making sure you clean dry your brush frequently to avoid product build up, and cure.

Step 5

Repeat Step 3, but this time covering only half the nail with the Gellux Devil Red, don't cure. Then repeat Step 4, and cure.

Step 6

Apply Gellux Cover Pink Base Coat to the top third of the nail, don't cure.

Step 7

Using an ombre brush, blend the Gellux Cover Pink Base Coat downwards, and cure.

Step 8

On a piece of foil or palette, mix one part Gellux Cover Pink Base Coat to two parts Gellux Easy Off Base Coat to create a sheer nude. With a gel brush apply the mix over the entire nail with a thicker layer on top third of the nail and a thinner layer on the rest of the nail, and cure.

Step 9

Gentle dab some Gellux Dazzle on the side of each nail, then cure.

Step 10

Apply Gellux Top Coat, and cure. Wipe with Gellux Prep+ Wipe and apply Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil to finish.
