Nail Art Step by Step: Lucky jade gemstone nails

Sometimes referred to as bringing happiness or harmony to its wearer, the gemstone Jade is also thought of being protective and lucky. Salon System nail expert Jaz Moger captures the qualities of this gemstone in her stunning nail art design using Gellux gel polishes. Follow her step-by-step tutorial to recreate the look yourself…

Step One
File the nails to shape, push the cuticles back with the Gellux Cuticle Handy Manicure Tool and gently buff the nail plate with a white block.

Thoroughly wipe nails with Gellux Nail + File Cleansing Spray and a lint free pad.

When the nails are dry, apply Gellux Fast Bond and let dry for 30 seconds.

Then apply one very thin layer of Gellux Builder Gel in Light Pink, curing for 60 seconds between each coat. Using a fine liner and Gellux Purely White, paint some wiggly line onto each nail, do not cure.

Step Two
Using a slightly bigger nail art brush and some Gellux Prep + Wipe, dab along the white line to make it ‘bleed' a little.

Once happy with it, cure.

Step Three
Mix Gellux Rush Hour with a small amount of Clear Base & Top Coat, paint onto the nail randomly and cure.

Step Four
Next, paint over the nail with a thin coat of Gellux Builder Gel in Cool White, and smudge in some Gellux Lucky Shamrock, and cure for 60 seconds.

Step Five
After curing, wipe over each nail plate with Salon System Acetone. Using a dotting tool and some nail glue, paint a line of glue all the way around the edge of the nail.

Once the glue has gone clear, dab gold foil over the nail to create the foiled edge.

Step Six
Finish the design by applying two coats of Gellux Super Shiny Top Coat, curing between each layer.

Once cured, wipe over the nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe and oil the cuticles.
