For facial aesthetics practitioner Ana Sak [@queen_of_youth_official], the magic of New York Fashion Week takes place backstage, as she preps her models' skin for their big moment. Here she talks about how she gets models ready for the runway – and shares her expert skincare routine which we can all follow. “My job as a facial aesthetics practitioner goes well beyond makeup. Models at fashion weeks may have been in multiple shows a day, for a month, and you can see the effects of a large amount of makeup, hasty removal, and little sleep has on their skin. When a model sits down in my chair, I always start by prepping their skin to ensure they are runway ready - making their skin the perfect canvas for the makeup vision of the designer is a vital first step. I always start with cleansing, to not only clean any old makeup and dirt or oil from the skin, but also particulate matter from pollution that often sticks to the surface of the skin.
