Supporting mental health with meditation challenge


Dublin meditation centre and charity, The Sanctuary, is launching an entire month of self-care meditation practice to mark World Mental Health Day on 10th October.

Throughout October, The Sanctuary is running The 31 Day Challenge, offering one 20-30 minute meditation each day that can be watched, listened to and downloaded. 

Meditations have been recorded specially by The Sanctuary's experienced teachers in Mindfulness and Meditation, including Sr. Stan Kennedy, Dr Tony Bates, Jane Negrych, Mary Jennings, Dominic Cogan and Barry Lee. Sessions will also be led by Trudy Goodman, co-founder of the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The 31 Day Challenge not only supports the mental health of those taking part, but is also raising money for The Sanctuary's An Cuan, which works with those recovering from and/or suffering with mental health issues, physical disabilities, addiction, unemployment and homelessness.

It provides the opportunity for all people everywhere to come together and challenge themselves through meditation to really look after their own mental wellbeing, while advocating for those struggling with mental health issues. It also provides the opportunity to help break down any stigma that surrounds mental illness.”
